Lawyer and partner Trygve Tveter started his first job at
The Norwegian Immigration Office in 1975, the same day that the Storting imposed a ban on immigration. He later worked at the Norwegian Immigration Office in the immigration department of the Ministry of Local Government and Employment and the Ministry of Justice. He was also seconded as an immigration attaché to the embassies in Pakistan and Sri Lanka and worked at the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Sri Lanka. After this, he worked at the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration in various management positions in the legal department until 1993.
